The kendriya Vidyalaya No1 was previously known as Black Elephant Vidyalaya .This vidyalaya was situated  opposite to the existing Bus stand. It was under control of the Army authorities. It is converted to theKendriya vidyalaya during 1964.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1 located in Cantt. area. This Vidyalaya opened in Dec . 1963. The distance from railway station is about 7k.m. Jhansi is famous for Rani LAXMI BAI. K. V. No. Jhansi holds the pride of being one of the first 20 Kendriya Vidyalayas established in 1963-64. The Vidyalaya was set up in the vibrant historical seat of Bundelkhandin defence sector. It has kept marching since then towards achieving excellence in education and has sucessfully crossed the landmarks like being a Model School amongst first 50 Kendriya Vidyalaya(1995-96). Now is well ahead on the way to emaerge as an examplary SMART SCHOOL.
